Fernando Carlos Gomez, Sr. was born on October 19, 1972, to Refugio and Patricia Gomez. He was born and raised in Marshall, Texas. He went home to be with the Lord on June 5, 2025.

He was a lifelong roofer from the early age of sixteen for Emory Moore to Right Kut, to his own business of Ace Roofing with his brother. His pastime was enjoyed by spending time with his grandbabies, his grand nephews, hunting, fishing, helping his family and enjoying the time he spent with them. His favorite pastime that he was always joking about was keeping the Casinos open and running. He was a simple, down-to-earth kind of guy. He graduated with his GED in 2010, and he accepted God as his Lord and Savior and followed in Baptism in 2010 as well.

He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Dale Gomez; his mother, Patricia Estell Wallace Gomez; grandmother, Ola Mae Wallace and cousins, Aubrey, Rose, Robin and Donald Wallace.

He is survived by his lifelong love of 37 years, Vicki Gomez; son, Fernando Carlos Gomez, Jr. and Sabine Spradlin; daughter, Alexa Gomez; brother, David Gomez; sister, Estellita Gomez; nephews, David Jr.  and  wife, Jessica and Korey Gomez, Justin and Terry Jones and Damian Barr; nieces, Shanna and Kevin Smith, Jasmine and Gaby Vazquez, Juanita and Joseph Crews, Anita Gonzalez, Tiffany Schufeldt and Sophia Gomez; grandchildren, Marisa, Hailey, Donald, Xander and Jade Gomez and his little buddies, Remy and Karter Gomez along with other family and friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Yates Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A time for visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m., in the Chapel.

Pallbearers will be David Jr. and Korey Gomez, Monte, Jason, Zach and Granger Wallace and Honorary Pallbearers will be Remington and Karter Gomez.
