Funeral services for Betty Russell Munden, 85, of Marshall will be held 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2012 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Jay Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in Grange Hall Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Munden passed away July 26, 2012 in DeRidder, LA.

Betty Russell Munden was born February 27, 1927 in Woodlawn, TX to Charles Wesley and Sudie Moore Russell. Betty married Starr Munden on May 4, 1946 in Scottsville, TX. They were blessed with five children: Jack Starr, Starr III, Pam, Patti and Samantha. Starr preceded her in death on October 25, 2000. She was a member of Bilbo Street Church of Christ in DeRidder, and a former member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ in Marshall. Betty was a graduate of Marshall High School, and a homemaker.

Betty is survived by her sons, Jack Starr Munden of League City, Starr Munden III and wife Lisa of Austin; daughters, Pam Willis of Henderson, Patti McClelland and husband Arthur of Spring, Samantha Woolley and husband Christopher of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Amanda Hicks, Megan Lavender, Christopher Munden, Jacquelyn Munden, Samantha Munden, Edie Willis Beckner and Rowdy, Collin Cox and Jo Carol, Celsi Cox Wise, Chase Cox, Brittany Munden, Michael Munden, Sean Woolley, Faye Woolley, Jack Woolley; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Arthur McClelland, Chase Cox, Christopher Woolley, Sean Woolley, Starr Munden, Michael Munden, Jack Munden, and Christopher Munden. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Duhon and Dr. Chris Granger.
