Services for Alice Marie James, 65, of Linden, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2026, at Heritage Baptist Church in Jefferson, Texas. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Linden. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Downs Funeral Home.

Alice was born on August 20, 1960, in Atlanta, Texas to Edgar Marion Watson, Jr. and Gladys Nell Powell Watson and passed away on April 4, 2026, at her home in Linden.

She loved working in the yard planting flowers. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting and putting puzzles together. She loved watching TV with her kids and her favorite part was having a movie night eating popcorn. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. Most of all she loved her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Gladys Watson; husband, Billy Joe James, Sr. and her two sons, Jeremy Lee James and Jeffery Colton James.

She is survived by her son, Billy Joe James, Jr. and daughter, Heather Michelle James, both of Linden, Texas; James Watson, Roy Watson, Jerry Watson, Charles Watson and Harold Watson all of Marshall, Texas, Kenneth Watson of Longview, Texas and Alex Watson (Jean) of Woodlawn, Texas; sisters, Geraldine Watson, Brenda McCown and Charlotte Alexander all of Marshall, Texas, Betty O'Bryan of Tenaha, Texas and Barbara Waxler (Mike) of Avinger, Texas along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and other family and friends.
