Obituary

Our beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great grandmother, and friend, Alice "Jane" Pearson, 73, of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Edgewood, Washington died of natural causes on Sunday, May 28, 2023 (Pentecost Sunday), at UT Tyler East Texas Hospital in Tyler, Texas.  Born on July 8, 1949, in Logan, Ohio, she is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Patricia Fickel of Edgewood, Washington.

Jane will be lovingly remembered by her husband Craig, and their three children, Patrick and his wife Cassie, Kelly and her husband Jeff, Caitie and her husband Steve.  Her grandchildren, Paeyton, Hannah and her husband Joe, Noah, Dominic, Sarah, Allie, Rebekah and her husband Sam, Zackery, Reagan and her husband Levi, Darbie and Milo. Her great grandchildren Wyatt and Alice. Jane's sister Kathy, brother Rick and wife Jackie, sister Mary and her husband Rob, all her nieces and nephews (7), and great nieces and nephews (35).

Jane was born and raised in Logan, Ohio. The summer of her senior year of high school (1966), her family packed up the car and traveled west, settling in Federal Way, Washington. She then enrolled into nursing school, married the love of her life (Craig), on July 11, 1969, continued her education and graduated with her nursing degree in 1970. She retired in February of 2015 from Providence/Swedish Medical Center as a home health clinical director, managing three of the largest counties in Washington State (King, Pierce, & Thurston).

All that knew Jane personally would agree that no one spread more love in one lifetime than her. She had a knack for making friends with everyone, making them feel loved and welcomed with open arms. She would invite you over for dinner and say, "it'll just be a small gathering." The red carpet would roll out and she would start the home cooking which meant a full 7 course meal. Then she would offer her own bed for anyone to sleep in.  Her small family gatherings would turn to 40 plus people within an hour. She made everyone that entered her life feel like family, whether they knew her for one day or a lifetime.

A mother holds her children's hands for a while, their hearts forever. Jane was a dedicated Catholic who followed the teachings of the Traditional Latin Mass Parish of the Roman Catholic Faith. A true follower of Christ, she took care of the sick, helped those in need and left the world a better place than she found it. Her impact was felt over 4 generations. She always made sure her family was taken care of. She raised her kids and guided her grandchildren toward a life she deemed worthy, offering guidance when needed and was always there when trouble came knocking. Her family knew she could be counted on without fail. Her love was unconditional; she truly loved her family regardless of their decisions and actions.

Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories. The stories and memories of her lifetime are filled with entertainment, kindness, and generosity. She was organized and the most creative person in the room. If anything stood in her way, she was relentless. She was firm, argumentative, stubborn, brave and tough that all came from a place of love. Jane would give a look that would let you know what you did was wrong or right. Her biggest passion was bringing her family closer to God. She loved cooking, gardening, vacations, and taking care of animals. Jane's childhood dream was to visit Fatima and Lourdes. She was able to fulfill that dream a few years back. Jane's life truly was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. May the Lord have mercy on her soul and receive her in heaven.
