Funeral services for Allen C. Peteet, 66, of Marshall will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2014 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Peteet passed away April 8, 2014 in Marshall. Allen Peteet was born May 25, 1947 in Marshall, Texas to Edward L. and Elizabeth Potter Peteet. He was a graduate of Marshall High School and attended SFA and ETBU. Allen was office manager for Texas Scrap and Salvage in Marshall for 20 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the 25th Infantry Division. He was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Along with his brother Bill, he raised cattle. Allen married Mary Alice George on February 10, 1979 in Marshall. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2013. Allen was a Baptist. Surviving Allen are his brother William "Bill" Peteet of Harleton; sister, Martha P. Wise of Dallas; nephews, Kyle and Amy Peteet and their children, Sawyer, Chaney and Berkley of Corinth, Mark and Christina Peteet and their children, Savannah and Archer Peteet of Marshall, Todd Wise of Dallas; niece, Laura Wise of Dallas; and other extended family and friends. Preceding Allen in death were his parents and his wife.
