A graveside service for Alma Jean McMullen, 85, of Tatum, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Grange Hall Cemetery in Marshall, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Downs Funeral Home.

Alma was born on January 16, 1940, in Elkhart, Texas to Grady and Ethel Wortham and passed away on December 18, 2025, in Hallsville, Texas.

She worked for Sears for a number of years. She enjoyed going to the casinos. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Ethel Wortham; her husband, Ray McMullen and her two daughters, Connie and Tammy.

She is survived by her son, Terry Simmons; brother, Larry Wortham and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren along with other family and friends.
