Amos C. Stephens was born on February 02, 1927 to the parentage of Marvin and Verse Lee Stephens. He received his education at Mt. Pleasant ISD. He worked at Thiokol Ammunition Plant in Karnack, Texas before retiring after 35 years. Amos Stephens served on the K.I.S.D School Board from April 14, 1975 to April 20, 1979. He loved his family very much. He was also dedicated to his church family. He accepted Christ into his life at an early age. In the church, he served as the adult males Sunday school teacher, sang in the senior choir and worked as the chairman of the deacon board until his health would no longer allow him to do so.

He was preceded in death by four children, Rochelle Jones, Bertea Harper, Cynthia Lockett, and David Stephens.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Stephens; children, Sharon Watkins of Dallas, TX, Barry (Sandra) Stephens of Missouri City, TX, Kenneth (Mary) Stephens, Annette (Bill) Hicks, Barbara (Michael) Boone, and Tammy McCoy all of Karnack, TX; 27 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
