Funeral services for Amy Thurmon Armstreet, 56, of Marshall, TX, will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 10, 2013 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Will Sherman officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Downs Funeral Home. Amy passed away October 6, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. Amy Thurmon Armstreet was born December 5, 1956 in Homer, LA to James Lloyd and Josephine Reynolds Thurmon. She attended Marshall Public Schools, and was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Amy enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, quilting, and woodworking. Most of all Amy loved being a mother, wife and daughter, and she had a contagious smile. Amy is survived by her husband, John Armstreet; daughter, Kyla Moore Weis and husband John; son, Casey Armstreet; her parents, Lloyd and Josephine Thurmon; grandkids, Alex Weis and Sydney Weis; brother, Mike Thurmon and wife Rhonda and their children Brandy Lindemann and husband Matt and Michael Thurmon and wife Dara; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Amy was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and a daughter, Jaycee Armstreet. Pallbearers will be Michael Thurman, J.R. Slayter, Matt Lindemann, Jerry Davis, Adam Fisher and Kolten Phillips.
