Ann
Ganus
Aug 25, 1943 — Nov 16, 2021
Harleton
Mrs. Veachrie L. (Ann) Ganus was born on August 25, 1943 in Dallas, Texas to Sidney N Harper Sr. and D Lucille Gray. Mrs. Ann was a dedicated home-maker and mother to her husband, K.A. (Andy) Ganus and her two sons, Darrell L. Ganus and Michael W. Ganus. The job that she loved the most was her role as Grandmother to her five (5) granddaughters whom she doled on with her whole being. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do, within her abilities, for these girls. She enjoyed getting to know her first grandson-in-law, Bryant Fox, who affectionately nicknamed her Reba.
Mrs. Ann married her husband, Andy, on October 23, 1964, in Dallas, Texas. She always smiled when telling the story of how Mr. Andy gave her one week to get her affairs in order because they were going to the church and getting married on that Friday or they were done. They lived happily together and raised two sons in Garland, Texas until 1997, when he retired and they moved to Harleton, Texas. She was a loving wife and caregiver to Mr. Andy through his periods of illness. Mrs. Ann remained in Harleton until her passing, faithful to Mr. Andy and a rock for her boys' families. She was a devout Christian and a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Longview, Texas. Mrs. Ann volunteered, when able, at the Hwy 80 Mission and always cherished her membership with her JOY Group.
Mrs. Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. Andy, her three sons, Brent, BB, and Brett, her father, Sidney Harper Sr. and wife Ruby, mother, Lucille Gray and husband Miller, and brother, Sidney Harper Jr. She is survived by her sons, Darrell and wife Lisa of Kilgore, Texas, and Michael and wife Michelle of Seoul, South Korea. She is also survived by her five granddaughters and one grandson-in-law: Courtney Fox and husband Bryant of Birmingham, Alabama, Sidney Ganus of Brownwood, Texas, Anna Ganus of Abilene, Texas, Carley Ganus of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Grace Ganus of Abilene, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 26, 2021 at Grange Hall Cemetery in Marshall, Texas.
As a breast cancer survivor and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Ann's name to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
