Anna Faye Swaggerty was born March 17, 1929 in Waskom, Texas to Sarah Elizabeth Carriker Hightower and Zeb Vance Hightower. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 13, 2014. Anna Faye grew up in Elysian Fields, Texas, and graduated from Elysian Fields High School. She then attended Centenary College where she would meet her future husband Joe Swaggerty. Anna Faye graduated from Centenary with a Bachelor of Science in 1950. She later attended Baylor University in Dallas where she received her degree in Medical Technology. After graduation Anna Faye and Joe were married June 7, 1952 in Elysian Fields, Texas and moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where they started their family. Joe's work would take them to San Antonio, Texas for two years, then Wichita, Kansas for another two years, and then to Ulysses, Kansas in 1960, where they lived for twenty years. Anna Faye worked at the Ulysses Medical Clinic as a Medical Technologist and took on nursing duties as well as raising her two wonderful children Vance and Sarah. In 1980, Joe retired and they moved back to Elysian Fields, Texas to the home where Anna Faye grew up. Anna Faye found great joy in serving her Lord through serving and helping others in her community. During their time of retirement Anna Faye would attend Mt. Zion Methodist Church and Bethany Baptist Church. Anna Faye's faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was steadfast and sure. Upon her passing a short note was found in her family Bible. The note was titled the, "Desire of my heart" and read as follows, "God's presence be with us all andmay we glorify You oh Lord in our concerns. Praise be to God in all things." Anna Faye had no doubt in her place in God's Kingdom knowing that she was saved by grace through faith. We rejoice with her today knowing that she is eternally secure at the feet of Jesus in the Kingdom of God.
