Anthony P.
Kidoor
Aug 28, 1954 — Jul 22, 2024
Marshall
On 22 July 2025, Anthony Phillip Kidoor passed away surrounded by his wife, Elizabeth Grace, and his loving family.
Everyone who knew Anthony can recount several stories about Anthony or the tales he's shared through the years regarding his very full and fun life. "Gido," as his grandchildren called him, the Arabic name for Grandfather, would never miss an opportunity to spend time with his kids and grandchildren and was there if they ever needed him, usually with a big smile and a hug.
Known for his tremendous love of others, he was always willing to give everything he had to help those in need. Elizabeth has said that "if given the opportunity, he would have given away nearly everything we owned if it meant helping someone else in need!" When she asked him one time why he felt the need to give so much to others, he responded that it is "because people needed those things more than I do."
Throughout the years, but especially when he was younger, Anthony was a big collector and lover of '50s and '60s muscle cars. He bought his first car at the young age of 14, and it's said that he owned upwards of 80 cars by the time he was 17 years old. Most of them were acquired through illegal quarter-mile street racing for 'pink slips'! Years later he donated a car to a charity so that they could teach others about automobiles. One of his best memories with cars is when he was offered an opportunity to ride with a NASCAR driver around a sanctioned motor speedway.
Never one to shy away from challenges, Anthony acquired a love for hot air balloons and was a professional hot air balloon pilot who flew in most major competitive hot air balloon events across the nation with his team. He also loved technology and was considered by some to be a genius and ahead of his time. His passion at that time was building custom computer motherboards and complete systems. A few of his customers were notable NFL players of the time.
Anthony's life started with very humble beginnings. He was born on August 28, 1954, in Norfolk, Virginia to John A. Parco and Sheila Kidoor. When Anthony was about six years old, his parents separated and Anthony was raised in New Castle, PA, by his maternal grandparents, Yunis and Anna Kidoor. His grandfather, Yunis, came to America from Syria and met Anthony's grandmother, Anna, while working on her family farm. Yunis came from a small village in Syria that only a few years after he left, he lost all his family members, leaving no other surviving Kidoor. Yunis loved his three daughters, but when Anthony's mom asked her parents to raise Anthony as their own, Yunis jumped at the opportunity to raise a son who could carry the family surname, and they adopted him.
Anthony's paternal grandfather, John R. Parco/Porco, left Dipignano, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, a commune in the mountainous region of Cosenza, at the young age of seventeen, not long before the start of World War I. Ten years after arriving in America, John Parco met and married Mary Champ/Ciampa, a daughter of an Italian immigrant. Together they had seven children.
Anthony married the love of his life, Elizabeth Grace on May 28, 2016. Together, they shared many memorable moments and eight wonderful years together, especially those with their immediate family, which consisted of children and grandchildren from Elizabeth's previous marriage. "Gido" never missed an opportunity to be there for his family whenever he was needed.
Anthony Kidoor is preceded by his parents, John Parco and Sheila Kidoor Micco, half-brother, Norman Micco, grandparents, Yunis and Anna Kidoor, and John and Mary Parco.
