Barbara Elaine Elliott Torres was born in LaPorte, Texas on April 25, 1936 to Eddie Woodie Elliott and Wilma Lorene Livingston Elliott. She passed away on September 18, 2015 at her residence in Kingwood, Texas. Barbara married Joe Torres on May 14, 1977 in Houston, Texas. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, a dedicated and selfless person, who always had a kind word for everyone. She was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Walnut Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Midkiff and Bro. Matt Paul officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10 - 11 a.m. preceding the funeral service. Interment will follow in the Walnut Springs Cemetery. Survivors are her husband Joe Torres of Kingwood; children, Cathy (David) Waldrum Plemmons of Marshall, Wesley (Gaytha) Waldrum of Cedar Park, Randy Waldrum of Mesquite, and Karla Torres and husband, Jerry Shih of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, Kenny (Melissa) Waldrum, Chris (Jill) Plemmons, Kevin Plemmons, Joshua (Erin) Waldrum and Kyle Waldrum; great grandchildren, Cayden Plemmons, Jenny Waldrum, Carson Plemmons, Cooper Plemmons, and (soon to be born) Emery Waldrum; brother-in-law, Bill Halcumb. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters, Patricia Halcumb, and Beth Nation; brother, George Elliott. Pallbearers will be Cayden Plemmons, Chris Plemmons, Kevin Plemmons, Kenny Waldrum, Josh Waldrum, and Kyle Waldrum.
