Beatrice Thompson Baker was born June 25, 1924 in Murphy, Texas to Joe Marshall Thompson and Sally Spillers Thompson. She passed away January 28, 2016 at her residence in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Bea married Charles Baker on March 14, 1944 in Lubbock, Texas.  They were married for sixty-five years before his death on March 28, 2009.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Marshall Hardware & Supply, and later for Rainbow Floral before her retirement.  She knew her way around the kitchen and loved to cook, bake, and even canning. She enjoyed writing letters, cross-stitching, and feeding the birds. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them.

She is survived by her children, Joe Michael Baker, and Kathryn Ackermann Baker of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandchildren, Dwight Baker and wife, Valerie, Larry Baker and wife, Shawn, and David Baker; great grandchildren, Kayla and Luke Baker, Buck Baker, Beau Baker, Jewell Mendez, Mac Baker, and Macy Baker.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, eldest son Charles O'Brian Baker, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
