A memorial service for Benjamin LeeBob Christy, 53, of Marshall will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, February 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Christy passed away Thursday morning surrounded by his loving family after a battle with cancer.

Benjamin Lee Christy was born June 5, 1962 to Robert and Gusteen Christy in Indianapolis, Indiana. LeeBob was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and grilling. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Dallas Cowboys. LeeBob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. For 28 years, he dedicated himself to the Marshall Fire Department, a job he loved. After 28 years of faithful service and dedication, Benjamin LeeBob Christy, badge #157, retired on June 05, 2012.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving family, his parents, Robert and Gusteen Christy; wife, Bridget Christy; children, Laura Christy Booth and husband, Troy; Ashley Christy Russell and boyfriend, Evan; Jessica Dawn Ingram; Cody Ingram and wife, Bethanie; Cayley Christy and Elora Christy; his sister, Tracie Roberts and husband, James; grandchildren, MaKayla, Haley, Allison, Hanna, Benjamin, Jaxon, Kinlee and Landon; nephew, Judson; niece, Abbie; sister-in-law, Jonnie and husband, Aaron Baker and Makayla; and the Marshall Fire and Police Departments.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Viola Bennett; aunt, Flo Holly; and son-in-law, Wesley Russell.

LeeBob will live forever in our hearts and memories.
