Funeral services for Mr. Bert Allen Dowler, 56 of Waskom will be at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. T.J.Rose officiating. Visitatation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, February 16th at the Downs Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery in Lafe, Arkansas on Thursday, February 19, 2015 following a visitation at 10 a.m., and funeral service at 11 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church. Bert Allen Dowler was born August 27, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri to Harold G. Dowler and Mary Ida Brasher Dowler. He passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He worked for General Motors since he was 18 years old, starting in St. Louis, Missouri, then Oklahoma City, and in 1982 to the plant in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he was presently employed. Bert was affliated with the St. John Lutheran Church in Lafe, Arkansas. He enjoyed motorcycles, four-wheelers, cars, fishing and family. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Harold and Mary Dowler of Lafe, Arkansas; his sons, Danny Dowler and fiance' Melissa Taylor of Piggott, Arkansas, and David Dowler of Waskom, Texas; sister, Pamela Dowler of Lafe, Arkansas, and brother, David Dowler of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; grandchildren, MaKenna Dowler of Waskom, Texas, and Kelbe Dowler of Piggott, Arkansas; and "dear friend" Karen Cline of Waskom, and her children, Gary Cline, Leslie Thurman and husband, Brandon of Waskom.
