Berta "Penny" Marjorie Pennington Hopkins was born to Simon E. Pennington and Mamie Rigsby  Pennington on May 29, 1931 in Marshall, Texas and passed away peacefully March 11, 2016 in Marshall. She married Ray Harold Hopkins on April 19, 1952 in Marshall, Texas, and was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: David Hopkins of Marshall, and Karen Elliott and   husband, Bill, also of Marshall; brother and sisters, Harold Pennington of Marshall, Mary Ross of Hollister, MO, and Grace Rhyne of Marshall; grandchildren, David Hopkins, Jr. and wife, Nichol, Wes Hopkins and wife, Kim, Josh Hopkins, and their mother, Jan Quinn, Mandi Elliott and partner, Katie McMahon, and Crystal Henigan and husband, Scooter; great grandchildren, Jessica, Trey, Haley, Braden, Gracin, Kyler, T.J., and Josh; and great great grandson, Kameron.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister.
