Graveside service for Bertie Lee Hickman, 97, of Longview, will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Grange Hall Cemetery of Marshall. Visitation will be held at Downs Funeral Home from 12:00 -1:30 p.m. on Friday preceding the service. Richard Pruitt will officiate. Ms. Hickman was born June 28, 1914 in Tatum, Texas to Edna Jimerson and John William Grigsby. She was a member of Grange Hall Baptist Church. Ms. Hickman passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Longview. Ms. Hickman is survived by her daughters: Betty and Virgil Wilson of Longview and Linda and Al Moore of Alba, Texas; grandchildren: Angie Williams of Dallas, Debra and Mark Alford of Longview, Donna and Clyde Armstrong and Terry and Dave Raybin both of Palestine, Texas, Thomas and Pixie Green of Marshall, Mike and Suzie Mahfood of Tyler, Paula Commins of Palestine; great grandchildren: Crystal and Curt Skinner of Hallsville, Rocky and Tiffany Alford of Harleton, Jason Armstrong, Jonathon Armstrong, both of Huntsville, Texas, Bo Tillman and Amber Tillman both of Palestine; and great great grandchildren: Madison, Jenna, Mason and Lilly; and son-in-law Billy Wofford. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brother and 7 sisters, her husband Buster Hickman, daughter Delores Wofford, grandson Roland Commins, Jr. and Great Grandson Eli Alford. Pallbearers will be Jason Armstrong, Jonathon Armstrong, Rocky Alford, Bo Tillman, Thomas Green and Dave Raybin. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ronald Scott and Dr. Scott Brown.
