Funeral services for Bessie Irene Bridger, 85, of Marshall will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Matt Paul officiating. Interment will follow in Gill Cemetery. There will be a visitation preceding the service at Friendship Baptist Church from 10-11 a.m.

Bessie Irene was born August 23, 1930 in Georgetown, New York to Floyd Holl and Mae Sawyer. She moved to Marshall in 1976. Bessie married Galen Bridger on July 18, 1987 in Marshall, Texas. She was a homemaker and member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband of twenty-eight years, Galen Bridger of Marshall; children, Timothy Champagne of Carthage, Cindy Stuart of Carthage, and Dorreen McCutchen of Marshall; Sisters and Brothers, Rosie Guidry, Hazel Hunter, Little Mae, Billy Holl, Raymond Holl, Arthur Holl, and Donny Holl. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Terry Welch and her husband, Timothy Welch, grandson Jacob Ryan Hollon, brother Bob Crumb, step-daughter Mitzi Green and her husband Jack Green, sister Marie Sheer, and brother Carl Holl.
