Bess loved entertaining!! Her friends constantly coming by to see her always put a smile on her face! She always had coffee and a coke handy.
Bess was so blessed with having such loving caregivers, each, she liked "best" for different reasons!
Bess was an expert seamstress-always sewing her daughters the latest fashions. She loved being an original member to the Lick Skillet Sewing Club for many years!
Bess's church, the Bethany Baptist Church, was so very important to her! She served many roles during her years-all so cheerfully and for our Lord Jesus Christ.
Her favorite "fun" thing to do was Shop...and, shop she did!! She shopped from yarn to shoes! Crocheting was her favorite hobby. She crocheted many afghans, giving all away!! She also loved making her special Christmas ornaments, giving all away!!
Bess was so generous. If someone admired something of hers, she would say "take it"!!
One of Bess's proudest moments was being made Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star. She enjoyed her position of secretary to the superintendent of the Elysian Fields Schools and serving many years as Post Master to the Bethany Post office. Bess will be best remembered for her smile and her home always being the "party house"!! She will be so missed!!
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Peck and Sharman Spencer. Three sisters: Daisy Heitner, Maggie Ferrell and Rebecca(Punkin) Abney. Four grandchildren: Taralyn Kay Branchizio, James Reginald Odom, Harmon Weslee Odom, and Gregory Brant Spencer.
