A memorial service for Betty Ann Davis, 82, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Landers will be officiating.

Betty was born on April 12, 1941, in the Woodlawn Community in Harrison County, Texas to John Wilson Corpier and Mabel Claire Dollar and passed away on May 30, 2023, at her home in Marshall, Texas.

She was very athletic in her younger years. She loved bowling and played on a softball team with Thiokol. She loved to read and could read a book in no time. She also loved to plant flowers, garden and to work in her yard. She loved her cat Tess but loved all animals. She was a loving, caring, strong and brilliant person. She was a self-made woman and took pride in everything she did and made sure it was always done to the best of her ability. She would go without to make sure everyone else was taken care of.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Wilson and Mabel Clair Corpier; her husband, Travis Davis and 9 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Marla Lambert and James G. Abell and spouse, LaWanda; sister, Geneva Howe; grandchildren, Ronald Minatrea and spouse, Nicole, Ryan Minatrea, Russell Minatrea and spouse, Star, John Lambert and Nicole Abell; great grandchildren, Gavin Minatrea, Katelyn Minatrea, Lauren Minatrea, Jaxon Minatrea, Dylan Minatrea, Kennedy Minatrea and Sutton Minatrea along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Wounded Warriors Foundation, The Marshall Police Department or the Animal Shelter (Humane Society).
