Funeral services for Betty O. Leonard, 72, of Marshall, will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 16, 2012 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Father John Himes officiating. Interment will follow at Piney Cemetery in Harleton. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Leonard passed away December 13, 2012. Betty O. Leonard was born in Harleton to Roy Roe and Bessie Marie Clark Oney. She attended Marshall Public Schools. She married John Ervin Leonard who preceded her in death. Mrs. Leonard was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was an avid golfer and gardener. She loved to travel, and loved her pomeranians. Mrs. Leonard was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Mrs. Leonard is survived by her son, Mark Leonard and wife Unsil; daughter, Cathy Scarbrough and husband Randy; grandchildren, Danielle Dunster, Kyle Dunster, Andrew Leonard, Elisabeth Leonard; great grandchildren, Aiden McHenry, Aryana Sharpless, Evalynn Nicole McHenry; brother, Phillip R. Oney; sisters, Annie Woods, Bonnie Floyd and husband Jack, Wanda McBride and husband Calvin, Linda Cochran and husband Ken; sister-in-law, Susan Willy; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Leonard was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Mildred Oney, brother Alton Oney; nephew, Stephen Jones; great niece Madison McBride; and brother and sister-in-law, Janet Stranahan and husband. Pallbearers will be Roger Jones, Brian Floyd, Kirk Cochran, Keith Cochran, Chris Jones, Kendall Cochran, Casey Jones, Austin Ratcliff. Honorary pallbearers will be Darren McBride and Rodney McBride.
