Mrs. Murrell passed away Wednesday, March 08, 2017.

Betty was born on January 26, 1936 in Marshall, Texas. She married Bonnie D. Murrell on June 21, 1957 in Marshall, Texas. She worked for Harrison County Clerk's Office, Weisman's, First National Bank, and the City of Marshall.  On February 29, 1996, Betty retired from the City after 22 years of service.  Betty and Bonnie faithfully attended Grange Hall Baptist Church in Marshall for most of their marriage. For the past 8 years, they have made Mulberry Springs Baptist Church their home church. She served on many committees and loved working with the youth.  Betty was always the first one to provide food for families in times of need.  Betty and Bonnie have 3 children, sons,  Eddie Murrell of Marshall, William B. Murrell and wife, Jessica of Diana; and a daughter, Carolyn Allen and husband, Wayne of White Oak.  Betty cherished her 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nanny.  She has 2 sisters,  Jeanie Williams of Kilgore, Kathy McCullars of Willis, TX; and a brother, Ben (Freddie) McCullars and wife, Pat of Garland.

Betty is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin McCullars and mother, Winnie McCullars.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and most of all a woman of great faith. She loved singing in the choir and many times, her beautiful alto voice could be heard in a solo or quartet. Betty lived her life as God commands in his word.  Heaven has received a beautiful angel.

The family sends much thanks and appreciation to Texas Home Health Hospice, they provided so much assistance and comfort in a time of need.
