A visitation for Betty Jo Roberts, 92, of Midlothian, Texas will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas.

Betty Jo Roberts was born on March 12, 1930, in Carthage, Texas to Val Lawrence and Addie B. Hudson Lawrence and passed away on March 23, 2022, in Midlothian, Texas.

She married the love of her life, Bennie Lee Roberts on April 25, 1947, in Marshall, Texas and remained married until his death. She loved traveling, camping, shopping and babysitting her grandkids. She served as a nursery worker for years at Victory Baptist Church. After retiring from the nursery, she kept children in her home. Even in her 80's she still loved to take care of her lawn. She enjoyed cooking for the holidays and loved hosting family get togethers. Most of all she was very family oriented.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Val and Addie Lawrence; her husband of many years, Bennie Roberts; 3 sisters; 3 brothers; son-in-law, Roger Kuhn and grand-daughter, Shelli Elam.

She is survived by her children, Janice Powell, Tommy Roberts and wife, Martha, Shirley Kuhn and Judy Elam and husband, Keith; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Gideons Organization.
