A funeral service for Bill J. Patterson, 78, of Waskom, Texas will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Waskom. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Church.

Bill was born on July 25, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Alvin Duane Patterson and Betty Jean Shelton Patterson and entered into eternal rest on October 5, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana surrounded by his family.

He was 2nd generation Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He worked for the Harrison County Sheriff's Department for twenty-three plus years. His hobbies were riding his Harley, hunting, fishing and golf. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Waskom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Betty Patterson.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Suzanne Patterson; children, Michael Patterson (Kelly), James Patterson (Brianna), April Wilson (Mark) and Joseph Roberts; sister, Mary Diane Lawson; grandchildren, Hunter, Hallie and John, Landry and Piper, Brandon, Chandler, Christopher and Carrington and Cassie, Josie and Kylie and numerous great grandchildren along with other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office.
