A funeral service for Billy Ray "Bill" Holland, 77, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Old Ramah Cemetery in Ashland, Louisiana. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at Downs Funeral Home.

Bill was born on July 8, 1946, in Chestnut, Louisiana to Henry Ray Holland and Clodelia Wren Holland and passed away on January 24, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

He was in the US Army from May 16, 1966 to February 29, 1968. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Bethany, Louisiana. He loved to hunt and fish, but most of all he loved his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Clodelia Holland; former wife, Susana R. Holland; first wife, Yang Soon Holland; sisters, Margarett Pauline Chesser and Josie Scott Ball; brother, Donnie Rex Holland and niece, Lisa Chesser Border.

He is survived by his brother, Joe Scott; sister-in-law, Martha Holland and numerous nieces and nephews along with other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
