A graveside service for Billy R. Kitchen, 87, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, La. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., at Downs Funeral Home.

Billy was born on December 24, 1935, in Welch, West Virginia to Charlie Kitchen and Bessie Collins Kitchen and passed away on August 17, 2023, in Bonham, Texas.

He married Charlotte Esther Snook and the two remained married until his passing. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1956 before being Honorably discharged. He was a mechanic and worked as a truck driver for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Bessie Kitchen; two brother and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Kitchen; children, Billy Kitchen, Jr., Debra Acosta, Charles Kitchen, Ernest Kitchen and Mary Kitchen; 13 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren along with other family and friends.
