A funeral service for Blanche Lee Wade Manning, 90, of DeBerry, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2023, at the funeral home.

Blanche was born on April 19, 1933, to the late R.E. and Jesse Wade in Marshall, Texas and passed away on May 11, 2023, in DeBerry, Texas.

At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of St. John Baptist Church and later attending Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and Strickland Springs Baptist Church.

She was employed with the Elysian Fields School District for 30 plus years. She loved feeding and nurturing the community. She never met a stranger and is well loved by all that she encountered. To know her was to love her.

She was blessed with four children, Faye LaVergne, Darlene (Jimmie) Willie, Dianne (Frank) Freeman and Ricky (Keisha) Manning.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R.E. and Jesse Wade and 6 siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sister, Iretha Bates; brother, Lawrence Henderson; children, Faye LaVergne, Darlene Willie, Dianne Freeman and Ricky Manning; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; best friends, Stephanie Pope, Dorothy Roquemore and Debra Patterson; sons-in-love, Rickey Lawless, David Roquemore, Winston Horton and Emit McLin and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
