Bobby "Granddaddy"
Teague
Mar 7, 1938 — Sep 29, 2026
Marshall
Bobby Lee Teague, 88, of Marshall, Texas passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
He was born on March 7, 1938, in Longview, Texas to Claud Hilton Teague and Collie Lois Walden Teague.
Bobby graduated from Cy Fair High School in Cypress, Texas in 1956. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1959. His battalion was shipped out to Germany during the Berlin Wall Crisis. He was honorably discharged in 1962.
Bobby began working in the oil business in 1970 and retired from Exxon Pipeline in 1997.
On February 7, 1982, Bobby married the love of his life, Glenda Moore Teague. They were happily married for over 44 years.
After Bobby's retirement, he and Glenda purchased a motorhome and traveled together for several years. They also took several trips on Bobby's Honda Gold Wing. They traveled to New Mexico, the Big Bend, Texas, Mississippi, and most of the Eastern United States.
Several years later, they moved to Marshall, Texas to be near their children, grandkids, and "cemetery plots"! The couple have been active members of First Baptist Church since then.
Bobby was a very private, quiet, gentle and loving person. He never pushed himself on others. As a result, others were drawn to him – especially his grandkids. They lovingly called him "grandaddy". His newest obsession was his great grandson, Grayson. They had a mutual admiration for each other. Bobby was so proud to watch his daughter, Andrea, be a doting grandmother.
Bobby had a knack for telling jokes. Most of them were so corny that the family started calling them his "Dad jokes". He would call family and friends in the middle of the day just to tell them one of his jokes and that would be all he wanted to say! He brightened up even an ordinary day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Lois Teague; twin boys, Richard Dean Teague and Robert Doyle Teague; sister, Jeraldine Harkins and son, Jerry Bob Witcher.
Left to cherish Bobby's memory are: His wife, Glenda, of Marshall, Texas; children, Andrea Leigh Teague Cramer and Marshall Liston Teague (Niki) of La Porte, Texas, Deborah Lynn Witcher Howlett (Bart) of Tyler, Texas and Michael Todd Young (Tiana) of Houston, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sherry Witcher of Rockwall, Texas; grandchildren, Blaire Elizabeth Howlett Buchanan (Chris) and Brett Wells Howlett (Regan) of Tyler, Texas, Hannah Brook Witcher Wilson (Kameron) of Kaufman, Texas, Taylor Rae Young of Austin, Texas, Logan Ty Witcher of Rockwall, Texas and Ashleigh Cramer Villarin (Kristian), Austin Cramer (Reagan), Mason Liston Teague, Coleson Douglas Teague and Ousten Ponce all of La Porte, Texas; great grandchildren, Riley Grace Buchanan, Abel Rosser Buchanan, Auden Lee Buchanan, Ames Everett Buchanan, Madelyn Grace Wilson and Slade Elliot Wilson, Ellington Wells Howlett, Emerson Mills Howlett and Grayson Alexander Villarin among other family and friends.
If desired, donations in Bobby's name can be made to First Baptist Church, 405 W. Austin Street, Marshall, Texas, 75670.
