Bonnie L. Washburn McFarland Bonnie L. Washburn McFarland, 77, of Marshall passed away on August 20, 2010 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2010 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Prothro officiating. A graveside service will follow at 5:00 p.m. in Mankin Cemetery in Trinidad, Texas with Dwain Tedford officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21st at Downs Funeral home. Bonnie L. Washburn McFarland was born on August 24, 1932 in Trinidad, Texas to Cyral Washburn and Gertrude King Washburn. She previously was a waitress for Gables Restaurant, Big Pines Lodge for twenty years and ten years at El Chico where she was a waitress and then became a manager. She also worked a few years at Thiokol. Bonnie was affiliated with Calvary Assembly of God of Marshall. She enjoyed needlepoint and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Wendell Phillips of Marshall and Pam and Brian Buchanan of Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Velma McFarland of Marshall; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Bud Dulaney of Malakoff; grandchildren, Sheryl and Ronnie Oney of Hallsville, Ashley Arnold of Jefferson, Kenny and Shannon McFarland of Marshall, Kevin McFarland of Marshall and Jenifier and Paul Pickens of Waskom; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Austin Oney, Kaydon and Devon Arnold, Mason and Dylan McFarland, Chanley McFarland, Courtney and Cheyenne Pickens; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Bobbie Washburn; sisters, Ruby Washburn Cain and Helen Washburn; and father of their children, Kenneth McFarland. Pallbearers will be Kenny McFarland, Kevin McFarland, Chris Dulaney, Aaron Dulaney, Jeremy Dulaney and Darren Dulaney. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Mason, Dylan, Austin, Kaydon and Devon; and Bud Dulaney and Dick Meadows.
