A graveside service for Boyd H. Smith, 92, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2023, at New Grover Cemetery in Marshall, Texas.

Boyd was born on September 20, 1931, in Little Rock, Mississippi to Clifton L. Smith and Mable Wansley Smith and passed away on December 24, 2023, in Longview, Texas.

He married Darlene Ebarb on April 26, 1969, in Marshall, Texas and the two remained married until his passing. Working as a Design Draftsman for Thiokol for 20 years, he later retired at Vertex in Kilgore. He enjoyed hunting and working on antique engines. He loved tractors and enjoyed reading tractor books to his grandkids and great grandkids. He also loved his land and taking care of his property. Most of all he loved his family, his kids, grandchildren and his great grandchildren, as they were the light of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton L. Smith and Mable Smith and two sisters, Minnie Ree Duke and husband, Aubrey and Willie Jean Smith and husband, Charlie.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Smith; son, Brandon Smith and wife, Kimberly; daughter, Linna Sutton and husband, Jason; brother-in-law, John Ebarb; grandchildren, Hope Meador and husband, Randy, Brooke Gillespie and husband, Trey, Lauren McGarvey and husband, Payton, Edison Sutton and Jamison Sutton and wife, Chloe and great grandchildren, Jett Meador, Wren Meador, Janie Gillespie and Jansen Gillespie along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his honor to Love Them More Ministries and to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
