Obituary

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Robert Bryan Whitehead, 32, of Woodlawn, Texas will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Bryan passed away Sunday, January 01, 2017 in Marshall, Texas.

Robert Bryan Whitehead was born prematurely, weighing just 2lbs 9 ½oz, on October 4, 1984 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born with cerebral palsy and was visually handicapped, but his disabilities did not disable Bryan. He often told people, "it' will be okay". His hobbies included playing super Nintendo and Wii. He loved music of all types and enjoyed rides in his sister's car, where Bryan was in charge of the radio. He enjoyed his trips to McDonalds and outings to local Mexican restaurants, but his favorite food was his Mamaw's dumplings. He loved talking to his friends and family on the phone. Bryan lived life, but like all of us, some days he just needed a down day. He made this known by telling his family, "I'm gonna chill today".

Those left to cherish the life of Bryan Whitehead are his mother and stepfather, Sandra Morris and Gus of Woodlawn; father and stepmother, Robert C. Whitehead and Diane of Marshall;  grandparents, Gene and Lynda Weaver of Karnack and Linda Baudoin of Kaufman; sister, Amy Michelle Whitehead Hutto and husband, Tony of Woodlawn; stepsister, Brooklyn Morris of Houston; stepbrothers, Michael and Dylan Sipes of Marshall; niece, Caitlin Nicole Craver of Woodlawn; step-nephews, Hunter Hutto of DeBerry, Christopher Bryant of Clovis, New Mexico and Kevin Bryant of Cypress. He is also survived by numerous, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding Bryan in death was his grandfather, Robert J. Whitehead.
