Carrie Mukes Williams was born in Marshall, Texas, the proud daughter of the late L.C. and Leola Kennedy Mukes. She was a graduate of H. B. Pemberton High School, Eastfield and Mountain View Colleges. At an early age Carrie united with the Morning Star Church of Christ in Marshall, Texas. She later moved to Dallas, Texas where she was rebaptized and placed membership with the East Dallas Church of Christ where she remained a faithful member for 26 years. In 1995 Carrie returned to Marshall, Texas, and united with the Westside Church of Christ. Carrie's life was dedicated to God and family. Serving, helping and doing unto others as she would have them do unto her has always been her rewarding joy. Carrie trusted these memories and deeds will ever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was an employee of Bankers Life and Casualty Company for 12 years and the City of Dallas for 13 years. A willing worker for the Lord, Carrie enjoyed serving as a Sunday school and youth Bible Class teacher. Carrie's humble request of God was to take her when her soul was in its most saved state. God's will has been done. One son, James Earl Williams II preceded her in death. Left to cherish those special memories are her husband of 45 years, James Earl Williams I; one son, Christopher Williams of Houston, TX; one daughter, Wendy Williams of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren, Lakeitra, Christopher, Jamain, Roderick, Emily, Jeremiah and CaiLee; one sister, Evelyn (Lindbergh) Wesley of Hawkins, TX; one brother, Arthur Lee Mukes, and a host of kinfolk and friends.
