Funeral service for Cassandra Jo Melton Hill, 51, of Marshall will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro Ron Segers and Father Denzil Vithanage officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Following the services, friends and family will gather at St. Joseph's Catholic School. A time of visitation will also be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Hill passed away March 23, 2013 in Marshall. Cassandra Jo Melton Hill was born January 22, 1962 in Kokomo, IN to Sandra Cannon and Ted Melton. She married Scott Hill on May 1, 1981 in Marshall. Cassandra worked for Good Shepherd hospital for a number of years as a RN. She also worked part time for Dr. Kenny Hall for the past couple of years. Cassandra was baptized at Crossroads Methodist Church. She graduated from Panola College Nursing School as top of her class. Cassandra enjoyed scuba diving, going to the Caribbean Islands. She was an adventurous lady, and an avid NASCAR fan. Cassandra is survived by her husband, Scott Hill; sons, Scotty & Shelby Hill and Steven & Miranda Hill; granddaughters, Kendall Grace and Daisy Grace all of Marshall; her father, Theodore Melton of Marshall; mother, Sandra Jenkins of Fordsville, KY; sisters, Tammye Elliott, Sammye Fletcher both of Ardmore, OK, Trayce Lawrence of Comanche, OK, Julie Moore, Jennifer Smith both of Marshall; brother, Ronny Copeland of Hurst, TX; a number of nieces and nephews and relatives and many friends and acquaintances. Pallbearers will be Scott Hill, Scotty Hill, Stephen Hill, Brent Bolt, Jack Bolt, Anthony Doiron, Eric Tex Thompson and Robert Graham.
