A funeral service for Charles Bernard Jernigan will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at 7:00p.m. at Marshall Maverick Football Stadium. Visitation will be held from 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Downs Funeral Home.

Charles Bernard Jernigan was born May 13, 1967 in Marshall, TX to Charles Jernigan Senior and Gloria Jernigan. He lived and attended school in Marshall, TX where he became a devoted Maverick sports fan. At an early age he grew up singing in the church choir and later followed in the footsteps of his father by becoming a Minister.

He was a beloved pastor of True Vine Baptist Church. A person of contagious joy who touched the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. He loved God, family, and sports. Reverend Charles Jernigan went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2020. He is preceded in death by his mother Gloria Jernigan, his sister Reggie Carlisle, and brother Fredrick Jernigan.

Reverend Jernigan leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Loletha M. Jernigan; his children Tineshia Anderson, Miesha Patterson, Lakeshia Mass, and Charles Jernigan; and two step children Aneeka Perkins and Malcolm Hubbard; his father, Rev. Charles Bernard Jernigan, Sr. (Helen); two sisters Shelisha Sheppard (David) and Catenia Jones (Broderick); four brothers, James Jones, Clinton Jernigan, Jimmie Jernigan (Elaine), and David Jernigan (Lahaunda); five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
