Funeral services for Charlotte A. Smith, 66, of Marshall, will be held 3:30 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Eastern Hills Church of Christ with Keith Hodges officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2014 at West Lawn Cemetery, Gretna, LA. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2014 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith passed away January 6, 2014 in Longview, TX. Charlotte Smith was born July 1, 1947 in Memphis, TN to Robert E. and Sue Sain Scott. She was a graduate of Northwestern State College at Natchitoches, and a member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ. Charlotte married Eugene Smith, Jr., on May 24, 1969 in Natchitoches, LA. She was a shopping queen, and a loving mom and friend. Surviving Charlotte are her husband, Eugene Smith, Jr., of Marshall; her daughters, Rebecca S. Glasgow and husband Bryan of Lumberton, TX, Kimberly Dawn Smith of McKinney, TX; brother, Robert D. Scott and wife Netta of Franklin, TN; sisters, Judy K. Forsythe and husband Hugh of Leesburg, VA, Paula S. Austin of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Cody and Rhianna Glasgow; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents.
