Chester Ray Flanagan, Sr. was born September 19, 1945 in Harrison County, Texas to Floyd Ray Flanagan and Ruby Mae Fry Flanagan. Mr. Flanagan passed away on July 8, 2017 in Harleton. He attended school in Marshall, and was a Mechanic and Logger.

He has been a residence of Harleton for the past 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, mudding, anything outdoors.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, and occasionally riding back roads drinking a cold one (ha, ha).  He loved to tell stories from his past to anyone who would listen.  He always looked forward to the Sunday eating meeting with all his kids and John Johnson.

Survivors are his children, Teresa & David Jackson of Marshall, Floyd & Charlene Flanagan of Harleton, Chester Ray Flanagan, Jr.,and Donnie & Patricia Flanagan, all of Marshall, Mary & Toby Thompson of Harleton; grandchildren, William Jackson, Chester Ray Flanagan, III, Aaron Flanagan, Courtney Pipkin, Marsha Molina, Angel Flanagan, Ray Flanagan, Megan Hicks, Vidalia Flanagan, and Ashley Rosario, great grandchildren: Liam Flanagan, Jackson Pipkin, Landon Pipkin, Makenzie Lewis, Aceali Esquivel, Avian Molina, Axcel Molina, Aliana Molina, and Scarlett Rosario, brothers: Roy & Debbie Flanagan of Missouri, Gordon Flanagan of Texarkana, sisters: Wanda & J.T.Hogue of Harleton, and Diane Henderson of Gilmer.

A memorial service will be held at Memorial Baptist Church in Marshall on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. with J.T.Hogue officiating.
