A funeral service for Mrs. Christine Shepard will be held Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 2:00p.m. in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Rev. Bob McCarty will be officiating the service. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Downs Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m.

Christine Shepard 89, of Marshall, Texas was born August 12, 1930 in Marshall to her parents, Lois Estelle Cole and Charles Cromer Lumpkin. Mrs. Shepard passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at her home. She served as a Charter Member of Bel Aire Baptist Church of Marshall. Mrs. Shepard was a homemaker and loved caring for everyone she knew.

Mrs. Shepard is survived by her son, C.W. Shepard and spouse, Peggy; siblings, Lois Arden, Waymon Lumpkin and spouse, Pat, Gregg Lumpkin; grandchildren; Jason Shepard and spouse, Christie, Lisa Prather and spouse, Brady, Casey Cleere, and Collin Cleere; great-grandchildren; Abby Shepard, Logan Shepard, J.T. Prather, Jeantry Prather. She also leaves to cherish her memories are many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Mrs. Shepard is preceded in death by her husband, John Willey "J.W." Shepard and son, Jeff Shepard.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that any contributions be made to the Gideon.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Bubba Irvin, Eddie Waugh, Buzz White, Carl Hagen, Roy Martin, and David Lambert.
