Christopher David McClendon, age 55, passed on to his eternal home on April 25, 2025.

Chris was born on February 23, 1970, in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was the oldest son of David McClendon and Paula Howard Metcalf. He grew up in Marshall Texas and graduated in 1988 from Marshall High School. Following high school, Chris attended Panola College and Blinn College.

He was a friend to all. He was always eager to lend an ear to anyone who needed it or go out of his way help a stranger. He had a wide variety of interests that he was able to use to serve others. Family was a priority for Chris. He was a leader, a visionary, and an outdoorsman. He had an entrepreneurial spirit that led to new adventures away from Marshall. He cherished the memories of a trip to Isreal with his father and brothers, Scott and Patrick. While living in Florida, he met friend and business partner, Mike Harris. Together they launched Fulcrum Consulting, Inc., a company that specializes in fiber optic protection.

For the past 22 years, he lived in Wylie Texas where he focused on growing the business as well as on other business pursuits and hobbies. While in Wylie, he attended The Invincible Church. He was a follower of Christ and lived his life treating others with kindness and respect. He cared deeply for family and friends. His loving spirit and welcoming smile were a blessing and light to those who knew him.

He often returned to Marshall where he could enjoy time with loved ones and the slower pace of East Texas. He had hope of moving back to the Marshall area to be closer to his family and the surroundings of his childhood. He will be greatly missed, but his family and friends rejoice knowing that he has entered his perfect home with Christ Jesus.

He is preceded in death by his father, David McClendon.

He is survived by his mother Paula Metcalf, her husband Bobby Metcalf; brother, Scott McClendon; brother, Patrick McClendon; and numerous other family and friends.

Services will be held Friday, May 2, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home located at 4608 Elysian Fields Rd., Marshall TX.

The family will receive visitors, Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Downs Funeral Home.
