Obituary

With profound sadness, yet unwavering hope in Christ, we announce the passing of Cynthia Lynn "Cindy" Kelley, who peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Bossier City, Louisiana, on July 31, 1959, Cindy lived a life defined by an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, boundless compassion, and unconditional love. Her relationship with the Lord was the foundation of everything she did. She loved Jesus with all her heart, and because of that love, she loved people deeply. She served with humility, forgave freely, extended grace generously, and never missed an opportunity to point others toward the hope she had in Christ.

More than anything else, Cindy loved her family. There was no place she would rather be than surrounded by the people she loved most, and no role she cherished more than being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her greatest earthly joy. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate the people she loved. Whether it was a birthday, a ballgame, a holiday, or simply gathering around the table, Cindy found her greatest happiness not in places or possessions, but in being together.

To know Cindy was to know joy. She was the life of every gathering, and the room seemed to come alive the moment she walked through the door. Her laughter was contagious, her wit was effortless, and her smile had a way of brightening even the darkest day. She had the rare ability to make every person she met feel welcomed, valued, and genuinely loved. You often felt her smile before you ever saw her face. She brought light wherever she went, and the world feels a little quieter without her in it.

Cindy's compassion for others was unmatched. If she told you she would pray for you, those were never empty words. She faithfully carried the burdens of others to the Lord in prayer. Over the years, her prayer list only grew longer because she never forgot the needs of the people she loved. She believed wholeheartedly in the power of prayer, and countless people found peace simply knowing Cindy was praying for them. She lived with open hands and an open heart, believing every person deserved kindness, encouragement, and the love of Christ.

Though gentle by nature, Cindy was unwavering when it came to protecting those she loved. She was kind to everyone she met, but no one defended her children and grandchildren more fiercely. She celebrated every victory, carried every burden, prayed over them faithfully, and loved them with a loyalty that never wavered. Her family never questioned whether she was in their corner—they knew.

Even through life's greatest challenges, Cindy remained steadfast in her faith and unwavering in her positivity. She faced each day with courage, grace, gratitude, and complete confidence in God's promises.

Perhaps the greatest testimony of Cindy's life was that she left no doubt where she would spend eternity. Her faith in Jesus Christ was evident in the way she loved, served, forgave, prayed, and cared for others every single day.

Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, Alan Kelley; her children, Casey Robinson (Lee), Donnie Brewer (Gracie), Dusty Kelley (Kiley), Chelsea McKee (John), and Austen Kelley (Halee); her brother, John Wynn (Francine); and her sister, Wendy Hedrick (Richard).

She was a proud and deeply devoted grandmother to Landen, Eyan, Jacob, Natalie, Kaylee, Macy, John Michael, Hanna, Chloe, Jackson, Ellie, Emma, Sadie, Kaylynn, Easton, Sophie, Jameson, and Aria, and was joyfully awaiting the arrival of her grandson, Jack, expected in October.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John Wynn and Barbara Ann Wynn.

Cindy's legacy is one of unwavering faith, unconditional love, genuine compassion, joyful laughter, and steadfast devotion to her family. She leaves behind a family who is stronger because of her prayers, richer because of her love, and forever grateful for the example she set.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
