Funeral service for Clentis M. "Clint" Beckett III, 58, of Marshall will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodger Garbs officiating. Visitation will be held 9:30 - 10:00 a.m., Saturday, prior to the service. A private interment will be held at Algoma South Cemetery. Mr. Beckett passed away June 2, 2012 in Marshall. Clint was born June 6, 1953 in Marshall to C. M. and Anna Louise Benskin Beckett, Jr. He was a graduate of Marshall High School and East Texas Baptist College. Clint was a member of First United Methodist Church, and his Sunday School Class "Pairs and Spares" was very dear to him. Clint was also a member of Marshall Lakeside Country Club. He was a very loving and caring person. Clint is survived by a niece, Texie and husband, Michael Nash of Marshall; great niece and nephews, Leslie Weir and husband Daniel, Dylan Nash, Duncan Nash and Jon Michael Nash, all of Marshall; great-great niece Gracey Weir of Marshall; and a number of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jo Lynne Beckett Dyke. The family requests memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church, 300 East Houston, Marshall, Texas 75672.
