Funeral services for "Slim" Collis Timothy Crutcher of Waskom, Texas will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2014 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with burial to follow in Gill Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Downs Funeral Home. Collis died August 21, 2014 at his home. He was born September 24, 1930 in Rockwood, Texas, the son of Alex Ludy and Rutilla Crutcher. He was a farmer, worked in the oilfield and was a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. "Slim" was a Baptist and a member Rockwood Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Marines. Surviving "Slim" are his wife, Vyonne Crutcher of Waskom; three sons, Terrance Rayford Crutcher of Marshall, TX, Jeffrey Keith Crutcher of Waskom, TX and Thelbert Odell Crutcher of Carthage, Mississippi; two sisters, Neily Bell of Lubbock, TX, Ludy Jane Bryan of Santa Anna, Texas; six grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding Mr. Crutcher in death were a brother; his parents, Ludy and Rutilla Crutcher; and 4 sisters, Lagatha Andrews, Edrene Tucker, Arliss Garner and Edith Norris.
