Funeral services for Currine Horton Grigsby, 92, of Marshall, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2015, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Gill Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., today at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Grigsby passed away February 15, 2015 in Marshall. Currine Horton Grigsby was born March 19, 1921, in McNeil, Arkansas, to Irven and Freddie Horton. She married James Felix Grigsby on September 21, 1946, in Longview, TX. Currine was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and was very active in the church and her Sunday school class (The V.I.P.). One of her favorite pasttimes was shopping with friends and doing yard work. Currine worked at Thiokol, Blue Buckle, Bealls Department Store, and retired in 1984. Surviving Mrs. Grigsby are two daughters, Lisa Lynn Grigsby of Longview, Deloros Wright of Marshall; one son, James Stewart Grigsby of Marshall; three granddaughters, Brandee, Kim, Robben; two grandsons, Michael, Stephen; several great granddaughters; several great grandsons; and other extended family and friends. Preceding Mrs. Grigsby in death were her husband, James Felix Grigsby on June 3, 1990; daughter, Kay Carolyn Bristow; brother, Irven Horton; sister, Freddie Sochotsky; two grandsons, Kelly and Kevin Wright; and her parents, Irven and Freddie Horton.
