A funeral service for Curtis "PawPaw" Graves, 90, of Harleton, Texas will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2024, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home.

Curtis was born on June 7, 1934, in Lubbock, Texas to J. Alvin Graves and Bonnie L. Cockrell Graves and passed away on August 10, 2024, at his home in Harleton.

He married the love of his life, Frances Modene Graves on January 31, 1965, in Lubbock, Texas and the two remained married until her passing. He loved taking care of her and loved making her happy by doing honey do's or whatever he could to make her smile. He loved to do woodwork and did incredible work. He also loved attending church and participating in the Saturday night fellowship group. He enjoyed singing, especially gospel and quartet. Most of all he loved Jesus, his family and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Alvin and Bonnie L. Graves; his wife, Frances Modene "Dean"; siblings, two brothers and one sister and two sons.

He is survived and loved by many family members and will be truly missed.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Harleton Volunteer Fire Department.
