Services for Dakota Ryan Rothacher, 5 months of Diana, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2026, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Piney Cemetery in Harleton, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the funeral home.

Dakota was born on February 16, 2026, in Longview, Texas to Candace Rothacher and Braxton Cole and passed away on August 8, 2026, in Longview, Texas.

He had a personality as big and bright as the sun. His beautiful blue eyes sparkled with curiosity and joy, and his sweet smile could light up any room. He was always happy and eager to share that happiness with everyone around him, bringing comfort and warmth even on the hardest days.

He loved spending time with his sister and could often be found laughing and playing by her side. He made friends wherever he went, including with the little farm animals he adored. He treasured being cuddled in loving arms and delighted in exploring the world around him, especially his own tiny chubby toes. Though his time here was far too short, Dakota filled every moment with love, laughter, and joy, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Candace Rothacher; father, Braxton Cole; sister, Delilah Cole; grandparents, Christopher Rothacher, Tamara Alldredge, Allen Cole and Brooke Ivie and great grandmother, Nancy Ridgeway Rothacher along with other family and friends.
