A graveside service will be held for Daniel George Meyers on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 10:00a.m. at Dewey Cemetery in Dewey, Oklahoma. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas.

Daniel George "Cowboy" Meyers was born on March 27, 1935 in Shidler, Oklahoma to his parents, Lee O. Meyers and Marguerite Hart. Mr. Meyers passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at his home in Marshall, Texas. Mr. Meyers married the love of his life, Connie Smith on April 3, 1983 in Marshall, Texas. He retired from Longview Asphalt Company as a truck driver in 2004.

Mr. Meyers is survived by his wife, Connie Meyers; son, Bill Meyers; daughters; Teresa Young and Julie Petrea and husband, Tony; sister, Carolyn Rust and husband, Jim; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memories are numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Meyers is preceded in death by his son, J.D. Meyers (Jerry Don); parents; brother, Jimmy Lee Meyers.
