A funeral service for Dannie Edward Grabener will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2021, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas. A time for visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Elysian Fields Cemetery in Elysian Fields, Texas.

Dannie was born on July 15, 1956, in Shreveport, La to Vance Grabener and Dorothy Brown Grabener and passed away on December 19, 2021, at his home in Elysian Fields, Texas.

He loved to elk hunt every year in Colorado as well as cooking the meat that he got. He was a prankster and loved picking on everyone. He was one of many children and always got the job of babysitting all the others. Most of all he loved his children and family very much.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donnie Vance Grabener and sisters, Jeanie Owen and Linda Haney.

He is survived by his son, Scott Daniel Grabener and wife, Wendi; daughter, Danielle Grabener McCann and husband, Micah; four grandchildren, Caitlin Grabener, Aiden McCann, Abbie Grabener and Ethan Grabener; brothers, Dennie Joe Grabener and David Wayne Grabener; sisters, Mary Farell, Patricia Lindsey and husband, Bobby, Brenda Tauzin, Shirley Brister and husband, Danny, Rebecca Schooley and Tammy Barras as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
