A funeral service for Danny Bert Moreland, 75, of DeBerry, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 10, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Grand Bluff Cemetery in Panola County, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel.

Danny was born on January 8, 1948, in Marshall, Texas to Albertus Moreland, Jr. and Ferrell Catherine Fonville Moreland and passed away on December 6, 2023, at his home in DeBerry, Texas.

He married Barbara Fae Whitley on August 24, 1968, and the two remained married until her passing in 2018. He lived his whole life in the Horton Community. He was a member of Walnut Springs Baptist Church. He served as a board member for the Walnut Springs Cemetery. He retired from R. Lacy Inc. in 2010 after 38 years. He was a lifelong member of Circle Four Hunting Club and Wildcat Hunting Club. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, listening to good music and playing 42. He enjoyed watching his westerns and could tell you what was about to happen. He loved giving funny nicknames and he loved coming up with his own funny songs and catchphrases.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albertus Moreland, Jr. and Ferrell Catherine Fonville Moreland and his wife, Barbara Fae Moreland.

He is survived by his daughters, Mandy Cox and husband, Joe, DanYel Clements and husband, Chris, Kathy Adams and husband, Robert and Dallas Hubert and husband, Dustin; his son, Danny Bert Moreland, Jr.; sisters, Betty Jane Harper and Melinda Baker and husband, Prentis; grandchildren, Sierra Sherwood, Hunter Hutto, Josey Hayes, Jr. Diaz, Alyssa Moreland, Maggie Moreland, Danny Moreland III, Beaux Hubert, Cole Hubert, Whitley Hubert and Lyrix Hubert and great grandchildren, Jaxon Armstrong, Madelynn Hayes and Waylon Sherwood along with numerous other family and friends.
