Services for Danny Ray "PaPa" "Preacher" Lee, 72, of Karnack, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Andrews Cemetery in Karnack, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2026, at the funeral home.

Danny was born on November 15, 1953, in Houston, Texas to Hody Lee and Dorothy Mae King Lee and passed away on July 25, 2026, in Hallsville, Texas.

He married Petichia Ann McReynolds on August 8, 1977, and the two remained married until her passing. He loved welding and was a welder for the Railroad where he was employed for 15 years. For the last 20 years he was a truck driver and hauled equipment and dirt. He loved deer hunting, duck hunting and running trot lines. He made the best brisket you've ever eaten. He also served in the ministry for 20 plus years, serving in the Pentecostal Churches and was nicknamed "Preacher." "Everyone who knew him well called him Preacher." Most of all he loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Hody and Dorothy Lee; his wife, Petichia Lee; two brothers; two sisters and two grandchildren, Gage Lee and Lincoln Lee.

He is survived by his children, Christopher Lee and wife, Amanda, Stacey Robertson and husband, Damon and Patrick Lee and wife, Ruth; brothers, Jerry Lee and wife, Janet and Wendell Lee; sister, Carolyn Benefield and grandchildren, Keelan Lee, Asia-Faith Lee, Jonas Lee, Thaddeus Lee and Preston Lee along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
