Funeral services for Danny C. Reaves, 69, of Longview, TX will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in the Downs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Bienhoff and Pastor Lester Howlett officiating. Interment will follow in the Hallsville Cemetery. Mr. Reaves made his journey on February 15, 2014 to be with his Lord and Saviour, he is at last peaceful after fighting cancer for nearly two years. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014. Danny was born on December 25, 1944 in Gilmer, Texas. He was employed by Weatherford for over 45 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood crafting and traveling, a favorite was going to Branson. He also enjoyed taxidermy and many knew him for the fine work he did. Danny was well loved by those who knew him and will be sorely missed. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed gospel music. He is survived by his wife, Paula; two sons, Dan Russell Reaves and wife Teresa of Tatum, and Allen Scott Reaves and wife Ronna of Longview. Danny had three stepdaughters, Vicky Norman of Gladewater, Mary Robinson of Wills Point and Ronda Brady of Warren, Oregon. One grandson Timmy Reaves of Longview, two granddaughters Brittany Trimble of Kilgore and Natalie Collins of Henderson, numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. His was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton H. Reaves and Gladys P. Reaves and Sister, Janice Reaves. The family wishes to thank Faith Hospice and friends for their prayers and support.
