Darlene Harris, 95 passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in Gill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Downs Funeral Home.

Darlene was born November 27, 1920 in Panola County, a daughter of Earl C. Briggs and Audrey J. Markham Briggs. She married Dewey D. Harris. Darlene was a self-employed hair stylist. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Gill Community.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Harris and her son, Jimmy Harris. She is survived by her brother, A.L. Briggs and his wife, Dorothy Briggs of DeBerry and a number of nieces and nephews.
